The Sunflower and the Great American Eclipse

Last week we packed up the Sunflower and headed to central Idaho to experience the Great American Eclipse. After listening to tales of the "apoceclipse" for several months, we were expecting the worst, but ended up having an amazing adventure.

After driving through the massive amounts of traffic...

...lining up for gas...

...fighting for space...

...and fending off hordes of multi-colored zombies...

...we finally made it to the St. Anthony Sand Dunes near Rexburg, Idaho.

The dunes were wild with ATVs and motorcycles, but the majority of the people there were visiting for the eclipse. It was the perfect place to set up camp, explore the area and get ready to film on Monday morning.

Then it happened...one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

Taken at Shoshone Falls State Park in Twin Falls Idaho. We took a lot of photos here since we really liked the local mountains and rock formations. The cooler sitting on the tongue of the teardrop is a bear-proof Igloo Yukon from the Sportsman's Warehouse that can be locked with two locks on either side of the lid. The Yukon keeps food cold longer than your average cooler and is tough, but very heavy to carry.

Monday Teardrop Photo

Because of a very busy week, the usual Friday Teardrop Photo has been moved to Monday.
On our way back from Yellowstone, we stopped for a dinner picnic at Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho. At 212 feet, the falls are higher than Niagara Falls.

Sometimes it is nice to be able to hook up to power at one of these types of RV parks. This park also had a pool, nice hot showers and a laundry room. We utilized all three.

The sunflower has a 110 hookup on her side and we keep a 25 foot cord and a campground adapter in the storage area under the bed.
