Teardrop Gear: Throw Pillow

There are several items that we have come to depend on when teardrop camping. Our trusty Coleman stove/grill, our Luci light and even our trailer levelers come out on top, but I never thought that one of the most useful camping items would be my sunflower throw pillow.

I only bought the pillow because it had a sunflower on it, but after camping with it for several years I realized it's a handy (and comfy) tool to have in the teardrop.

1. It's perfect for reading
A throw pillow gives you an extra bit of comfort for your head while lying down in a teardrop bed to read or watch a movie.

2. Use it as a hiding place
I've used the pillow cover to stash a book or my iPad or phone.

3. Picnic benches are hard
The throw pillow comes in handy when sitting for hours at a campground picnic table. It's also nice to have it for your camp chair.

4. No teddy bear needed
When sleeping in the trailer, it helps to have something to hug. The pillow works in lieu of a teddy bear...or a spouse.

5. Minimal decor
Right away most people get the theme of my trailer from just glancing at the pillow. I don't have to hit them over the head with sunflower decor.

50 Campfires

There seems to be a large amount of camping related blogs popping up lately and 50 Campfires is one of my favorites. 50 Campfires provides information, articles, reviews, recipes, and camping locations for car and RV campers in the U.S. and Canada. They also have a free magazine subscription that covers recipes, destinations and camper features.

They don't feature many teardrops or tiny trailers, but they did have a 10 "groovy" teardrop post that featured a great tour video of the Vistabule. I also like their gear reviews, recipes and their fun "Get Toasted" logo.

Cyber Monday for Teardroppers

Personally, I'm not a big shopper around the holidays and Black Friday and Cyber Monday fly right past me without much notice. However, I have been noticing a few online deals that could work out great for teardrop trailer owners. These specials include camping supplies where you can save some big bucks or get free shipping. Also, I wonder how many teardroppers bring their trailer along to Black Friday sales to camp in? That would make a great photo!

This flashlight with a really long name is a great deal! You can save 77 percent off this compact little light that is also waterproof. Teardroppers know the value of a good flashlight when walking to the bathroom or showers in a national park in the middle of the night. I think I might get several of these lights to keep in my backpack and in the teardrop.
