The Tearcuby Fits a Family of Four

Last year the Tiny Yellow Teardrop featured the teardrop by Eugenijus Jusas in Lithuania. His initial design has now expanded to include the Tearcuby, a teardrop trailer big enough for a family of four.

The tear (with its unique blue pattern on the exterior) is a 6x9 design. It comes it at 1,234 lb and has room in the bed for three people with a small bunk above the bed for a child.

Features include a water tank, sink, 8 gallon propane tank, 3-way refrigerator, slide out stove platform, and a wonderful panoramic skylight above the bed. The mattress is made in eight parts, so various seating options can be created. The bed also has 21 cubic feet of storage space under the mattress.

The interior includes lighting as well as sockets for laptop and mobile charging. An entertainment system can be installed by request.

Jusas is also planning on designing and selling an off-road version of his tinycamper.eu designs and all trailers can be ordered from his website. The Tearcuby is currently selling for €7150 (around $8,100).

“I am a maker and "employee" for this young company with big ambitions,” Jusas said. “ I want to grow a tiny camper owners community in the European Union just like in the USA.”

Featured Teardrop: Kulba

Another international teardrop trailer is on the road. The Kulba, designed and built in Latvia and available around Europe, comes in three different finishes: Woody, Silver Surf and Rebel.

Built with wood and Baltic birch plywood, the Kulba trailers range from 830 to 1,100 lb. and feature options like a bike rack, roof rack, hitch-mounted cargo box, fresh water tank and an adjustable mattress that can turn from a bed into a couch. The Kulba also has an off-road package, a hitch brake and windows with sun-reflecting rollers.

The galley kitchen has a water tank for the sink, an option for gas or electric stove, ice chest, power sockets and storage. The kitchen can also be designed to be open directly into the sleeping/living area. The Kulba extends the living area even more with an optional side or rear awning that is one of the largest I've ever seen on a teardrop trailer.

Pino Pi2010 Standy Trailer from Turkey

Okay U.S. manufacturers, listen up. These are the kind of trailers that a lot of American campers are looking for: a small standy with a kitchen that can be towed by nearly every vehicle. Is that too tall an order?

While the Pino Karavan is not a teardrop trailer, it allows campers to still sleep inside a minimalist space and cook out of the elements while still enjoying the outdoors, but currently it's only being built and sold in Turkey. The company makes larger trailers, but their Pi2010 is a wonderful design synonymous of the Knaus Schwalbennest —another European product.

The fiberglass Pi2010 is less than 900 lbs, 6 feet tall and about 5.5 feet in width and length. It's tiny, but inside is a small dinette that turns into a bed, a one burner stove and sink with a 12 volt pump, and a storage cabinet for a portable toilet.

The Pi2010 has some optional items like a 20 liter fresh water tank, exterior LED lighting, a propane heater, 12 volt cooler and the option for solar panels and a bike rack.

Featured Teardrop: Le Splash

Since I've been in the City of Light for several days now, I'm continuing on with my French teardrop theme and featuring a teardrop trailer by the UK company Camp-Runner. Their Le Splash teardrop trailer is an unusual and sleek design that features a back door and no galley. This very lightweight trailer only weighs 573 lbs and can be towed with a motorcycle or a Smart Car.

The fiberglass Le Splash is being offered as an outdoor sports enthusiast's trailer and contains a mattress, clothes storage, a stargazer window, 3-speed fan and a 220/12V charger/converter. It has a roof rack for surfing or skiing equipment and a front rack to store bicycles.

Camp-Runner offers several lightweight teardrop trailers for the European market including the Alpina by Little Guy and the Mediterane. The Cargo is an open model that's used for transporting sporting goods.

Sorry for the lack of posts over the last few weeks. I've been visiting family in Denmark for the holidays and traveling in Paris for a while. I've been keeping my eye out for any European teardrop trailers, but so far, they all seem to be tucked away for the winter.

However, I did see this stylish trailer being used as a display for the design firm, DecorMaison. Wouldn't a Parisian themed teardrop be fun? Some Tour de Eiffel salt and pepper shakers and some Montmartre inspired curtains? Oui, c'est bon!
