Friday Teardrop Photo

Shoes just seem to be too large for the teardrop trailer. I usually store my shoes either under the trailer or on the fenders. I've actually seen some teardroppers build fender boxes that hold shoes and other small items that can be outside, but should stay protected.

I do envy teardrop trailers with separate compartments for shoes. Where do you keep yours?

  1. When we are at some stopover, like a Flying J or Walmart, they come inside and we put them in shower caps to keep everything clean. If we are camping, we have a Paha Que tent. That or they are just on the ground.

    1. Shower caps! Awesome idea. I've also see those elastic food container covers that come in different sizes.

  2. I stick mine in a drawstring bag, placing it at the foot of the bed. I've also used plastic shoe boxes. Both work well.

    1. Great! We don't have much room at the foot of our bed, but putting them in a bag and under the trailer would help a lot with the dirt issue. Thanks!

  3. Hello Christina,
Have a look at what I did to solve that problem! The photos posted under Desktoprover username are mine. You can post them on your blog if you wish!

    1. What a wonderful idea! I had not seen this before. Thanks for sharing, Sylvain, and I will definitely put up a post about it!

  4. We used to place our shoes under the trailer for the night, but it wasn't long before we discovered that any major rain drenches the shoes (bouncing raindrops or a washout). So we bought a shallow clear plastic Rubbermaid container (very much like Sylvain's - great idea BTW!) where we store the shoes and slide the container under the trailer.

  5. Small Rubbermaid container on the fender is easy to reach for the middle of the night treks to the restroom and keeps rain or spiders out of my shoes.

  6. My plan is to build a mesh shelf under the trailer, under the doorway, sized to fit two pair.

  7. Aneta and csquared. Those rubbermaid containers come in really handy for everything. We also keep some fragile propane lights in one on the bed while traveling.

  8. In our area we don't have things like scorpions but we do have lots of spiders. that worries me more than them getting wet. I usually leave some sandals or crocs under the trailer but heavier shoes or boots usually go in the back of the truck or car.
Either way I always knock them together to make sure nothing has crawled inside!!

  9. This was my shocking moment at my first camping trip. Hot dusty, dirty work all day and sat in the door wondering wear to put the boots.
Now keep plastic shower sandals in the front seat of the car and change on the way to bed. Shoes are safe and may dry out. Sandals go on the roof or under TD.
I do like the slider storage bins.
