Hi NetDep. We currently use the REI Alcove. It has survived a lot of wind and rain and does really well. It comes in a carrying bag for around $100, but the sidewalls (two in a package) are extra. However, it can be a bit of pain to put together. It helps to have two people and maybe even four to help you move it into place. It is also low if you are a tall person. We are still going to use it for the beach and for Burning Man, but are looking at getting a First Up shelter just for teardrop camping.
Thank you!! BTW -- LOVE the trailer and all I am learning. Mine will arrive later this month and I can't wait!! Hope to post pics!! Thanks again for the reply -- looks like I will pass on this and keep looking -- I often travel solo.
You're welcome. Thank you for your interest. How exciting that you are getting your own teardrop! What kind is it? When you get it, let me know and I would like to do a post on a new owner's perspective of a brand new teardrop trailer.
I will - it is a www.golittleguy.com - I am having a hybrid done...a mix of the Silver Shadow, Rough Rider and BOSS. They have been very nice (although the waiting is killing me) - I am doing this since I like features of the three - the off road features of the RR, the interior and galley of the SS and some of the abilities of the BOSS - the fender mounted jerry can holders. Thank you for asking!! I found and LOVE your blog and continue to learn and look forward to making it to some get togethers as well -- there is so much to do in OR & WA....have a great week!!!
What a great mix. I had not idea that Little Guy would custom make such a specific teardrop. Yes, I would love to see photos when you get it. Congrats!
Got it and would love to share some pictures!! These things are cute, addicitive and after tent camping -- COMFY!! If you might like to see her my e-mail is NetDep@gmail.com
Which tent/shelter do you have over your galley?? It looks perfect!! Lots of room at the opening and wide...
