January and February Cool Tears and Tiny Trailers

I've been taking a little time off from the Tiny Yellow Teardrop blog, so I'm a bit behind on getting out some new information. Have you seen the January and February issues of Cool Tears and Tiny Campers? These two issues feature some great restorations and new builders, including Richard Hawkins' Trail Hawk Campers.

Are you as tired of this winter as I am? Check out how to camp in the winter (in Iowa) with Gary Roys and his wife Elaine in the February issue of Cool Tears. In fact, the Sunflower is getting dusted off this week for an adventurous trip to Yosemite National Park in the middle of one of the biggest winters in California history. We'll just have to see what happens.

    1. Yosemite was scrapped because of the massive amounts of snow.

    2. that's too bad. I went there in winter and almost no one was there! It was
tremendous! A beautiful wolf came out of the woods right up to my car and stood up to look in my passenger window. He looked like a Disney Production wolf with bushy full fur and yellow eyes! By the time I got my
cameral out, I got a picture of his behind walking away down a totally deserted road! Be very careful of driving though, the daytime can melt the snow and water runs across the road, then at night it freezes and driving is treacherous. (Cars were skidding off the mountain..even with chains on my tires it was slick and scary).

    3. Thanks for the story Carolyn. Yes, I've been to Yosemite in the snow several times and the roads can be very dangerous. They close off most of them (including Tioga) for the winter even if there's no snow. I don't think the Sierra has any wolves (Yellowstone does). It might have been a mountain coyote. They can get pretty large.
